Briotrio

is a Bergen based jazz project playing what it calls “cozy jazz.” The music has its roots in the American jazz tradition, but is unique in how the interplay works, including large elements of humor and spontaneity. The band recorded their debut album in January 2018, and it will be released on AMP Music & Recordings the 15th of March 2019. It consists of Ingrid Øygard Steinkopf (piano), Arne Skorpe Sjøen (drums) and Thomas Lossius (double bass)

is a modern jazz project building on the idiom established by Esbjörn Svensson Trio. In an half acoustic setting, it works explores gender blending, incorporating elements of Norwegian traditional music, neo-soul, rock/blues, free jazz and classical music. Their debut album was released in November 2017, with reviews being positive. It consists of Bjørn Helge Gammelsæter (piano, rhodes), Martin Haukedal (electric guitar), Sigurd Steinkopf (drums) and Thomas Lossius (double bass, electrical bass).

is the brainchild of Sanjally Jobarteh, a master kora player trained in the Mandinka classical tradition. The band explores both classical and modern Mandinka repertoire in an accoustic context. It consist of Sanjally Jobarteh (kora), Hassan El Bouzidi (calabash) and Thomas Lossius (double bass)

is a band started at the Grieg Academy of music, exploring the boundaries between composition and free improvisation. With inspiration from Dave Holland’s music in the late 80s, it delves into how a strong melody can influence and dictate improvisation, even when the parameters of the melody are left. It consist of Johannes Nøkling Aalgaard (electrical guitar), Elisabeth Lid Trøen (tenor saxophone), Kasper Waag (drums) and Thomas Lossius (double bass)
